Prom Week

Seniors get to celebrate prom with a dress up week and dressed up according to a certain themed day.

On Monday, seniors got to show off their future jobs with Career Day. Some students were even inspired by the career of their own teachers.

“I dressed up as Mr. Paschal for career day,” senior Jeanette Ramirez said. “I’m going to UNT like Mr. Paschal and I think I might into production like him. Plus it was funny to dress like a dad the way Mr. Paschal does.”

College Day was on Tuesday, and seniors showed off their college shirts with pride.

“I wore my FSU shirt since I’m originally from Florida and planning to go there,” senior Aiyana Thompson said.

On Wednesday, seniors got to show off their creativity with character day. Many students chose their favorite childhood characters to dress up as.

“I’ve been a Pokémon fan since I was 10 and it thought it was only right to dress up as it,” senior Ashley Crouse said.

Seniors took it way back with Throwback Day and wore clothes from older decades or even their favorite old movies and tv shows.

“I wore a ‘Rugrats’ shirt that I made because I love the characters,” senior Kelsi White said. “‘Rugrats’ was my favorite show growing up and I’m a 90s baby and the show was made in the 90s so that was my throwback.”

Prom Group Day was the final dress up theme of the week. Seniors made their own t-shirt designs for prom and wore them with their friends.

“We all liked ‘Toy Story’, so we thought it would be cool to have a ‘Toy Story’ themed prom shirt,” senior Ryan Floyd said.

A lot of preparation was done by the class of 2017 to make prom a night to remember. Prom is the night most seniors have been waiting for all four years of high school.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the dresses,” senior Charity Rico said. “I’m also just looking to dancing and spending the night with my amazing friends.”
