NFL Draft Takes Over Texas

The 2018 NFL Draft was the 83rd annual meeting of the NFL franchises to select young, talented athletes, who are fresh out of college for the 2018 NFL season. The draft was held on April 26 through the 28 at Jerry’s World and in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. This happened to be the first draft to take place in the Lone Star State and the first draft to take place in an NFL stadium.

The 2018 NFL Draft went over seven rounds, over 250 players were selected by NFL franchises, and an abundance of craziness that went on.

Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round: Baker Mayfield to the Cleveland Browns, Sam Darnold to the New York Jets, Josh Allen to the Buffalo Bills, Josh Rosen to the Arizona Cardinals, and Lamar Jackson to the Baltimore Ravens.

A pair of brothers were both selected in the first round, making them the first in the history of the NFL Draft to do so: Tremaine Edmunds (Linebacker) to the Buffalo Bills, and Terrell Edmunds (Safety) to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A majority of these 32 NFL franchises selected players who can make a big impact as soon as they hit the field, which is ultimately the point of the NFL Draft.
