With the many cinematic masterpieces we have been privileged to witness over the decades, there are a few that stand out. The creative works of these franchises I feel are unequivocally              matched when it comes to storytelling and picture.

Harry Potter

Based on the incredibly popular book series by J.K Rowling, the movies are arguably just as good.

They are the best and most creatively aspired to portray the wizarding world that hides beneath the muggle world of London. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint wonderfully depict the trio of characters Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.

The Harry Potter universe is one in which magic exists unbeknownst to the common man and thrives under their noses. The series follows Harry Potter, a boy who was almost killed by the most powerful wizard to have ever lived but was saved because of his mother’s love. He goes to Hogwarts, a massive and brilliant castle that’s grounds to display to the audience all the creativity and genius behind magic Rowling created.

With many characters, evil and good, many unfortunate situations occur in which Harry is impeded from becoming a normal wizard and how he and his friends, along with many protagonists, help him avenge his family and defeat the wizard who tried to kill him so many years ago. This is my favorite movie series and leaves an impression in the viewer’s mind they will always value.

The Star Wars Saga

The Star Wars saga by George Lucas is a massively beloved franchise and rightfully so.

The characters and creatures are incredibly diverse, with many storylines running simultaneously, with new forces being born and old ones dying. The franchise spans over many different planets and galaxies and doesn’t follow one character.

Instead, it displays the many characters’ immediate triumphs and problems, from being bombarded in spaceship warfare, to evading monsters in the desert.

All the characters happen to have the same end goal, and all seek to destroy the main villain, the Empire, a massive army of evil dark lords and their followers. The saga holds many real world values and themes, all whilst illustrating a future dystopia in another galaxy beautifully.

The saga has been thriving for many decades, beginning in the 70s with movies still being made today. The Star Wars saga is a wonderful illustration of what may be occurring in a galaxy far far away.  

Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a universe in which the Marvel Superheroes reside together. There are over 7,000 diverse superheroes, with an incredible array of powers.

The Marvel storyline has fluctuated throughout the years, but has stayed fairly linear recently, creating common enemies of the infamous and iconic Superheroes. The cast is arguably one of the most recognizable in cinematic history and has earned Marvel the recognition it deserves.

The MCU is the most popular Superhero universe and that fact is undeniable given the recent movies that have grossed more than any in history, in Avengers: Endgame. Beginning with Iron Man in 2008, the MCU will continue to thrive and stay on top of the cinematic game for years to come.

The MCU is an action packed display of everything possible with cinematography and how the powers and  characters come to life, from the drawing board. The MCU won’t be impeded by any franchise any time soon, and dominates in telling the story of heroes.
