Jennie, from K-pop girl group Blackpink, is the first member to debut as a solo artist. Her track “SOLO” has quickly reached international success in various of countries around the world – it reached number one on worldwide iTunes song chart.

This doesn’t seem to be much of a surprise for a Blackpink member. Ever since the group first made their debut, they have been displaying their wonderful talent. They excel in all categories ranging from producing music to their choreography.

“Blackpink is a group that have worked hard in their training, and I commend them for getting as far as they have,” junior Jenny Thomas said.

In her track, she showcases a strong yet delicate women vibe that is not afraid of being independent.

“I enjoy the empowerment she give off every time she is singing the lyrics,” sophomore Amy Ramirez said.

Near the end of her song, she states that not being in a relationship has helped her find herself as a person and how she doesn’t feel any remorse about the breakup.

Jennie’s solo debut was huge success. She did a good job in separating herself as an individual separate from Blackpink.
