Students Prepare for Finals Week

With finals week being next week, students are preparing by going over their notes and going to study sessions.

“I’m making flash cards for every subject and I’m just going over the important points and topics for each,” sophomore Jenna Warlick said.

Students are able to exempt their finals if they meet the requirements, which are to have no disciplinary issues, no unexcused absences, and have a passing average grade in the class.

“I want to exempt my French III final so the stress for studying will decrease and I can focus on my core subjects,” junior Chiamaka Iheme said.

Some Pre-AP teachers are also offering final exam exemptions if the student has an A or B average for their semester grade.

“Even if students have a 70 for the average grade, they can still move up and improve their grade if they do good on the final exam,” Algebra II teacher Tammy Lockett said.

Students are able to improve their semester grade average with the help of their final exams, and it is also an opportunity for them to test what they learned in the second semester.
