Lakeview Centennial has been recognized as one of the best high schools in Texas – ranking in at number 23 out of the. Lakeview was one of only two schools in the entire district to be recognized as being one of the best; the other school was North Garland – which came in at number 171.

The news came as a surprise to much of the student population here at Lakeview, including sophomore Josue Prado.

“Us? That’s a bit hard to believe,” Prado said. “But, hey, the results don’t lie, do they?”

On the other hand, some students, like sophomore Mina Rubealcaba, aren’t as surprised.

“Of course we made it; this school has everything,” Rubealcaba said. “I’d be more surprised if we didn’t make it up there at all.”
