Choir UIL Spring Showcase Stuns Spectators

Friday March 23, the Lakeview choir held their annual spring concert to showcase their UIL performances. This year however, the choir directors decided to switch things up a bit.

Instead of giving a traditional performance alone, the choir also displayed their rehearsal procedures to provide the audience with a glimpse of just how hard the choir works.

“This year we’re gonna switch things up in the way we present our performances,” choir director Audra Turner said. “We’re gonna show the audience what we do to prepare for our shows.”

The choir displayed their warm ups and sight reading routines while a choir director walked around and offered tips and pointers.

“The sight reading seemed really hard to do,” parent Sylvia Ramirez said. “They must work really hard on that.”

The choir also had their members interact with the audience with a set of vocal warm ups. The choir surrounded the audience while the choir director lead the routine.

“The part where they helped us with the warm ups was fun,” Ramirez said. “It was something different and fun.”

Choir received 2’s across the board for their actual UIL performance.
