Last Wednesday, Lakeview’s DECA members and their sponsor Chris Fleming took a field trip to the American Airlines Center to watch a Dallas Mavericks game. Not only did they get to watch a professional basketball game, but they also were given the opportunity to learn about the business side of things.

DECA took a tour around the American Airlines Center. They also heard from several employees who work for the Dallas Mavericks about their backgrounds and different careers in that industry.

“We got to network with the employees that work for the Mavs and learn about what it’s like to work in sports,” senior Jessi Evans said.

Once 7:00 p.m. hit, DECA grabbed their bags of popcorn, sat back, and enjoyed a really close game.  

“Watching one of my favorite basketball teams was definitely the highlight of the field trip,” senior Jacob Arey said.
