Prom Views From the View
On Saturday, April 28, the House of Blues in Downtown Dallas hosted the seniors and their dates as they “rocked the night away” at Prom. The dance included a live DJ, an array of foods, a photo booth, and whole lot of room to dance.
“It was pretty fun, but sad at the same time because it’s one of the last things you get to do with your friends,” senior Alisa Kong said. “The only thing left now is graduation – which is bittersweet.”
Prom King and Queen crowning was also something everyone looked forward too. The titles went to seniors Nick René and Shalom Ibekaku.
“I didn’t expect to win at all, so I was really surprised when my name was called for Prom Queen,” Ibekaku said. “I’m thankful for everyone who voted for me and made my prom experience amazing.”
A lot of time and money went into making prom a night to remember: decorations, tickets, and most noticeably, everyone’s outfits.
“I was nervous that if I got a dress from a shop someone would end up having the same one, so I had my dress custom made,” senior Gabby Torres said. “Everyone looked stunning and killed it with their looks. Some people weren’t even recognizable because they looked so good!”
I'm a senior and this is my second year on the newspaper staff. I enjoy reading, writing, and astrology.
