LTAB Hype
Louder Than A Bomb is arriving very soon! Beginning October 2, students will be able to attend during their lunch periods on the first A Day of the week to begin their poetry experiences.
LTAB is a poetry program that is part of the Young DFW Writers organization. The LTAB program was brought here by English teacher Jason Carney in the 2015-2016 school year, and has grown since. LTAB is sponsored by Carney and fellow English teachers Veronica Ramos and Jenna Mikuls.
LTAB consists of a 16-week writing program and poetry competitions that the qualifying students can compete in. There are school-wide poetry slams along with a few DFW poetry slams that students have competed and succeeded in.
In 2016, Jade Pina won LTAB’s first competition, the Dallas Poetry Slam, which gave LTAB the exposure throughout the DFW metroplex. Other schools began adding LTAB programs.
From a small program that whispered its way around the halls to something much bigger that won its very first Dallas Poetry Slam competition; Louder Than A Bomb has grown so much.
LTAB sessions will be during the first A3 of the week in room 1114.
