Baseball seniors achieving big things
The baseball team is having an exceptional year. Some seniors on the team are achieving big things, including one player who has accepted a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, senior Kamron Fields.
Many thought Fields, who was also the varsity quarterback, thought he would be going to college for football, but baseball is where his heart is.
“It’s a dream come true,” Fields said, “and I thank God everyday for it. Baseball is a part of me and I’m excited to further my athletic success at the University of Texas, and I’m glad I could be part of such an amazing team.”
The team is more like a family than a team. This team isn’t exactly a serious team – even though they could handle it on the field, they’re a goofy bunch of brothers.
“The season is going great,” senior Kiore Smith said. “Our team has a strong connection that most teams don’t have.”
The next varsity game is Tuesday, April 18, at Garland.
I'm a senior on the varsity basketball team. This is my first year on the newspaper staff.
