American pop singer Ava Max has made a comeback with her latest release “My Oh My.” The song, which was released on April 4, 2024, was written by Ava, J Bach, Sam Martin, and Charles Roberts Nelsen. You may recognize Ava as the one who sang “Sweet but Psycho” back in 2019.
My first impression of this song was that I thought it had a very good beat to it. It was a very catchy song because of the beats it had throughout the song. I truly loved the intro since it starts off with a static sound, like if you hear someone’s headphones blasting and suddenly it fades in, like if you put on the headphones. Something else I liked are the parts where she sings in staccato form, which are notes that are played jumpy and detached when she sings from a higher to a lower tone.
The beats and the way this song sounds reminds me of how the DJs play their own mixes of songs with a lot of upbeats in them. So I believe this song is perfect for a summer night party and a fashion run show because the lyrics say, “Flashing lights up on my body feels like 90’s paparazzi,” and “when I walk in it’s electric, roll the carpet for me one more time.”
When that part of the song plays, there’s a contra voice being sung along with it, which makes it sound cool because it echoes in my ears from right to left.
The song has such good vibes, that it allows you to dance. I think Ava Max just gained a new fan for her music. I would recommend those who like pop music to listen to this song now on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Pandora, Tidal, Deezer, Napster, and Amazon Music.
