2017 Gloden Globes Review
The 74th annual Golden Globe awards ceremony was one to go down in history books as Jimmy Fallon was the ‘not so great’ host, Meryl Streep delivered a humble, tear-jerking speech for her Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award, and “La La Land” which won all seven awards it was nominated for. Many people had mixed views about Streep’s speech, believing it was either sobering to hear or a disgrace and slander against our upcoming president, Donald Trump.
I think the best thing to happen at the Golden Globes was when Tracee Ellis Ross won the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy. She was casted in a tv comedy called ‘Blackish’ starring as Dr. Rainbow Johnson in 2014 and was the first colored woman to win in this category in over 30 years, the last being in 1982.
By far the most breathtaking fashionista at the awards ceremony was Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad. She just looked Hollywood glamorous, a drop dead beautiful princess with her pale pink lacy gown with red lipstick that was perfect on her. Second on my list is Priyanka Chopra in a Ralph Lauren Collection. She sparkled in a sequinned gown that fitted her perfectly and with that necklace? Don’t get me started on how beautifully she pulled it off on her first appearance at the golden globes. She is perfection, bringing fire everywhere she goes.
In conclusion, the only things you need to know about the awards ceremony was Meryl Streep’s speech, Tracee Ellis Ross’s well-deserved win, Kristen Wiig and Steve Carell’s presentation skit to present at an award show that was comedic gold, and the 6 wins for “La La Land.”
