Talent Show Holds Audition For 2018
Lakeview held its auditions for the annual talent show that will be take place on March 2.
“It’s nice that there is a creative outlet for kids to show who they really are,” sophomore Vanessa Williams said. “I’m doing stand up comedy, and my jokes are based on my life with tourettes.”
Every act that auditioned had to pay a fee of $3 this year. This is to help compensate for the cash prize given out to first, second, and third place.
“The talent show is a huge fundraiser for our choir, our money goes to buying new instruments,” choir teacher Da’On Hinton said.
Students are prepared and excited to participate in the upcoming talent show; there are a variety of performances, including dancing, singing, playing instruments.
“I’m going to be singing and playing my ukulele,” senior Kaitlyn Ames said. “I’m good at it, and it’s my senior year so why not.”
The talent show will be held during school time in fourth period. It’s an opportunity for students to show off their talent and support their friends.
“The reason behind the talent show is that it gives everyone a chance to see the talent living in the school, it’s all about team spirit,” Hinton said.
