Upcoming Sweethearts Show
The Sweethearts’ Show is rapidly approaching. With only seven days left until the show, the girls are all excited to perform. The “Fierce, Fabulous, and 40” show will be performed on 7-8, and there will be an alumni luncheon on the 8th. The girls have been working frivolously to make the show as amazing as possible.
“The hardest part about preparing for spring show is definitely the long days,” senior Deja Daniels said. “On a good day we are only here for 10 to 12 hours so it can be exhausting especially since we still have homework.”
As the show inches closer, Sweethearts encourage more and more people to buy tickets to the show and come support them on a show they’ve worked so hard on.
“I’m super excited for Spring Show and meeting all of the alumni,” junior Delaney Foster said.
The girls put in work for months to make an amazing show for the parents and students, but this year it isn’t just the girls. There will be an exclusive alumni only number to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Lakeview being open.
“It is exciting to see former Sweethearts from years ago and know they also went through similar experiences,” senior Jazmin Vazquez said. “It is good to know the legacy continues.”
Along with the alumni, our school famous Lakeview Sweet-Tarts will be ready to perform next week too. Every year the Sweethearts pick their favorite junior and senior boys to dress in uniform and step to the beat as they perform Yankee Doodle.
“I’m extremely excited to be a Sweet-Tart this year,” senior Peter Kring said. “My favorite part is getting to work with my friends that are sweethearts.”
Throughout the process, every girl is working hard to make the show sparkle, but every show has a star player.
“The MVP is probably Brooke [McGrew] because she’s the one that keeps the team positive and has to do the most work when organizing everything for the show,” Foster said.
The team has put a lot of time and effort into their show and are excited to perform it next week. For the seniors, it’s their last ever Sweethearts’ show.
“It is such a bittersweet moment,” Vazquez said. “I’m kinda ready to let go of this stage in my life, but at the same time I wish it could last a little longer.”
