Cinderella Auditions
Theater held auditions for the children’s show “Cinderella.” The auditionees lined up outside the Little Theater to audition, and the show will be coming to Lakeview October 6th.
Candice Newsum is the head director of the department. She, along with Heath Gammon, were in charge of auditions.
“Auditions went really well,” Newsum said. “I was really surprised on how many people tried out.”
Many came and auditioned from a variety of different grades. For freshman, these are their first high school auditions for a show.
“I’m nervous, but it’s also really exciting,” freshman Chloe Sutherland said.
For seniors, it was their last first high school audition.
“It’s a bittersweet feeling,” senior Trevor Newman said. “It’s kind of sad. It’s an end of an era for all of us seniors.”
There were several parts up for audition, including Cinderella, the Evil Stepmother, and the Step Sisters.
“I would love to be Cinderella,” senior Jaelene Luper said.
She was cast as Cinderella in the Prince Charming cast.
“I want to be a stepsister in the show,” junior Mandana Burton said.
She was cast as Younger Step Sister in the Glass Slipper cast.
The show will premiere October 6th in the Lakeview auditorium at 7 o’clock at night. Prices for tickets have yet to be released.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone in ball gowns, even the guys,” senior Julissa Hernandez said.
