Update 10/2/2019 10:51 am:
After millions of people were devastated and concerned over Spider-Man leaving the MCU, Marvel Studios and Sony agreed for two more Spider-Man films after weeks of discussion. This came to light once it was revealed that “Spider-Man: Far From Home” contained and ending scene that could potentially change the whole Spider-Man films.
Thankfully, Marvel and Sony opened their eyes and realized they needed to add more to the series, but it doesn’t mean that Spider-Man will be rejoining the MCU.
Two weeks ago it was revealed that Spider-Man will be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will no longer appear in any of the future films.
Sony, Marvel, and Disney had a partner deal over the Spider-Man character ever since 2015. After making five movies together, two individual and three with the Avengers they still decided to cut off Spider-Man from the MCU.
“It’s kind of disappointing,” junior Alfred Avorque said. “Spider-Man won’t be able to be a part of the MCU anymore.”
“DEADLINE” revealed that many of their sources have commented over the reason why Marvel and Sony disputed. Marvel wanted a higher percentage of the money earned from the Spider-Man films but Sony wasn’t going to allow this since Spider-Man is one of their biggest money makers out of all the other films they produced.
Marvel puts more care and attention with their characters than Sony ever could. Marvel makes the characters come to life, they turn unknown group of comic characters to a money-making franchise.
It ruins the relationship that Spider-Man had with Iron Man. In “Avengers: Endgame,” Iron Man was heartbroken when Peter Parker was turned to dust. Then, when Tony Stark died, Peter was heartbroken. “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is even centered around Peter still being sorrowful over Tony. It makes us wonder how Sony and Disney are going to fill the hole that they created.
