The Lakeview boys basketball team had their first district game on Tuesday

The Garland Owls came out hot and held the patriots to only 5 points in the first quarter.

“It felt good out there,” senior Zhaire Smith said. “It was my first last district game so I had to give it my all.”

In the second half the patriots came back and did what they always do in practice.

“I push my teammates hard in practice so in game I scream Brendan and Eyo’s name as loud as I can,” senior Keyunta McGee said.

The owls played better than the patriots thought they would play.

They came out hitting shots and we were cold but we kept fighting and pulled the win through.

The boys next conference game will be Friday at North Garland High School for the boys second district.
